NOMINATION CRITERIA

  • NASAAG National Student Icon/Personality (Overall/Top Winner Category)

This prestigious category represents the overall awards acknowledging and celebrating the outstanding student who has excelled in academic excellence combined with extracurricular social-developmental initiatives; including leadership, social entrepreneurship, humanitarian services, and community outreaches, etc. Promoting and championing the interest, empowerment, and development of students/youth, while passionately contributing to the student community through peer mentorship, inspiration, and motivation. The student winner of this award embodies excellence, integrity (responsible leadership), and exemplary qualities that make them a role model for their peers/colleagues. 

  • National Best Student Community Development Advocate

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has shown citizenship responsibility, patriotic commitment, and leadership in initiating or participating in projects that benefit and uplift the immediate or local community. The student’s contributions may include organizing community service activities, implementing sustainable development projects, or fostering positive social change.

  • National Best Student Climate/Environmental Protection Advocate 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated outstanding dedication to promoting environmental conservation, sustainable climate-safe practices, and awareness of environmental issues within and beyond the academic community. They may have led initiatives related to circular economy or recycling, energy conservation, eco-friendly programs, or environmental, climate, and energy education.  

  • National Best Student Education Development Advocate

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated citizenship responsibility, patriotic commitment, and advocating for quality educational development and accessibility through the initiation or participation of educational projects like donating teaching and learning materials, donation of uniforms, bags, and scholarships to vulnerable students, voluntary teaching, mentorship, etc. The student’s contributions may also include organizing educational symposiums, and seminars or joining organizations, groups, and community services, fund mobilization in providing education infrastructures, etc. 

  • National Best Student Entrepreneur/Start-Up  

This category recognizes a student who has successfully launched and operated a promising start-up business or venture, demonstrating innovation, and entrepreneurship. The recipient may have demonstrated skills and resilience in starting a business, developing a sustainable business model, creating a unique product or service, identifying target market opportunities and showcasing growth potential, and exhibiting entrepreneurial leadership.

  1. National Best Student Social Media Influencer/Marketer 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has successfully created and managed an online or digital business or enterprise offering services which may include Trading/Selling, Influencing, Marketing/Promotion, Blogging, Content Creation, etc. through the Internet or social media. The recipient may have run other online businesses like Websites or E-commerce. 

 

  • National Best Student Cybersecurity/Social Media Safety 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has significantly protected vulnerable internet users, and voluntarily committed his/her intelligence or experience in online/internet or social media security prowess and expertise in providing safety and security tips, measures, and cautions to users through education, guidance, and counseling. The student may have knowledge about cyber security, social media law, etc. 

  • National Best Student NGO Ambassador/Volunteer 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who volunteers or represents, or serves as an ambassador to/for a local or foreign Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that focuses on students/youth, education, or community development programs. The student may have shown exceptional dedication to humanitarian causes or services, making a tangible impact on individuals or communities in need in areas like education, health, gender/women empowerment, charity/philanthropic works, and climate change advocacy.

  1. National Best Student Mental Health & Healthy Life Advocate   

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has shown exceptional concern and commitment in promoting and advocating for mental health and healthy lifestyle education, sensitization, and awareness in their communities or environment. The student health advocate may have led, participated, volunteered, or initiated such a program or organization. 

  • National Best Student Food Security & Clean Water Advocate

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated efforts that have significantly impacted and improved ways of accessing food and clean water in communities. Promoting and advocating for sustainable practices for long-term solutions for food security and clean water accessibility. The students may have led, participated, volunteered, or initiated such community sensitization and awareness programs or organizations. 

  • National Best Student in Sanitation & Hygiene Advocate

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated efforts that have significantly impacted and improved sanitation and hygiene in communities. Promoting and advocating for sustainable practices for long-term solutions for sanitation management and hygienic practices for a healthy community and lives. The students may have led, participated, volunteered, or initiated such community sensitization and awareness programs or organizations through community cleanup exercises, workshops, etc. 

  1. National Best Student Tourism, Art & Culture

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated keen interest with practice and advocacy in the field of tourism (hospitality), art and culture promotion, exhibiting knowledge and passion for tourism, art and culture education. The student may have shown commitment and professionalism in hospitality/event planning, organization and management, tourism promotion, visitor experience, etc.  

  • National Best Female/Male Student Leader 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a male/female student who has exhibited exemplary and responsible leadership qualities and actively led or was involved in student/youth-focused initiatives or programs both at school or community levels. The student leader may have demonstrated transformative leadership in advocating for students/youth concerns/issues inspiring inclusiveness and youth participation in leadership.

  1. National Best Female/Male Student in Politics 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has made a significant impact and contributions in promoting students’ political diversity, inclusivity, and participation. The student-politician may have thrived in student/youth-focused political activism, demonstrated effective political leadership, and tolerance, and promoted civic engagement among young people. 

  1. National Best Student STEM Education Advocate

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has championed and advocated the promotion of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) Education in Ghana, and demonstrated exceptional passion and commitment in the field of STEM disciplines. The recipient may have showcased excellence in their academic pursuits, advocating and empowering others, research, and campaign programs. 

  1. National Best Student Fashion Designer

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has excelled in the field of fashion design and stylish, showcasing creativity, innovation, and professionalism in creating fashion pieces for academic excellence or business. The student may have demonstrated talent in designing clothing, accessories, or any fashion collections, and may have as well participated in fashion shows or events.

  • National Best Student Jeweler 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has excelled in the field of Jewelry design and manufacturing, showcasing creativity, innovation, and professionalism in creating jewelry pieces for fashion styles and all occations. The student may have demonstrated talent in designing jewelry accessories, or any jewelry  collections for business or commercial and academic excellence, and may have as well participated in fashion shows or events.



  • National Best Student Graphic Designer

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has showcased exceptional skills, talent, creativity, and professionalism in graphic designing either for academic excellence or for commercial or business purposes. The student may have demonstrated skill in creating appealing visual concepts, digital artwork, branding materials, or graphics that effectively communicate conceptualized messages and engage the audience. 

  •  National Best Student Photographer/Videographer 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has displayed exceptional creativity and professionalism in the art of photography and videography. The student may have demonstrated compelling skills or talent in capturing images and videos, documenting stories through video/photography, or creating visually engaging photographic works.  

  • National Best Student in Agribusiness

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student in the field of agriculture or agribusiness or any farming-related ventures; demonstrating knowledge and innovation fostering sustainable agricultural business and practices through selling, growing, or producing any form of agricultural or farming products. The student may have also engaged in agricultural projects, research, or initiatives that contribute to food security, environmental sustainability, and agric-entrepreneurship. 

  1. National Best Student in Animation/Video Editor 

This category acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated excellence in graphics animation or video editing. The student may have showcased talent in creating animated works, editing videos, producing motion digital content, or using visual effects to convey storytelling.

  • National Best Student in Leadership (Male/Female)

This award recognizes and celebrates a student leader (through election or appointment or personal initiative voluntary course) who has shown patriotism, commitment, and voluntary leadership by initiating or participating in community and social projects that impact lives and uplift the social status of his/her colleagues, peers, or community. The student’s contributions may include organizing or participating in community services and implementing sustainable development programs in health, education, politics, human rights, and social justice fostering social change. 

  • National Best Student Beautician/Cosmetologist  

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated professionalism, creativity, skill, and artistry in the field of beauty and cosmetology both in academics and business success. The student beautician or cosmetologist may have showcased competence in creating makeup looks, special beauty effects, hairstyles, nails, and all cosmetology techniques that highlight their appealing profession or craft.




  • National Best Student Web/Software Developer 

This award acknowledges and celebrates a student who has displayed exceptional competence, creativity, professionalism, and proficiency in software development, coding, or information technology. The student software or web expert may have expertise in developing software applications, designing solutions, coding languages, or utilizing technology to solve real-world problems.  

  1. National Best Student Journalist/Blogger (TV/Radio

This category acknowledges and honors a student who has shown objective excellence, journalism ethics, and commitment to the journalism profession, investigating, covering, and reporting stories/news through various media channels including TV, Radio, Blogging Podcasts, YouTube or Social media, etc. The student journalist may have demonstrated strong communication skills, investigative competence, and media storytelling ensuring morality and integrity in his/her work.

  • National Best Student Media Personality (TV/Radio)

This category acknowledges and honors a student who has shown objective excellence, professionalism, and media ethics in journalism on traditional or online TV and Radio. The student media personality may have demonstrated appealing news casting prowess, interview competence, communication skills, and panel discussion, hosting programs, and media storytelling ensuring morality and integrity in his/her work. 

  1. National Promising Student in Music

This category acknowledges and celebrates a student and upcoming artiste/musician who has composed and produced an original track or single to his/her credit. Demonstrating promising musical talent creativity, and artistry in their musical endeavors. The student musician may have performed live shows or concerts and featured or starred in commercial music. 

  1. National Promising Student in Movie/Film (Actor/Actress)

This category acknowledges and celebrates a student who has demonstrated exceptional talent, versatility, and passion for acting or filming, stage play/drama, performing art or theatrical acting, etc. The student may have featured or starred in a collection of films, skit/comedy series, theatre or studio productions, documentary films, etc. 

  1. National Best Student Journalist (TV/Radio) 

This award honors a student journalist who has demonstrated exceptional skill, professionalism, and ethical standards in journalism through TV and/or radio platforms. The nominee must show: Consistent excellence in news reporting, presenting, or anchoring. Strong investigative skills and factual, balanced storytelling. Engagement with student/youth-centered issues and national development topics.A commitment to media integrity, freedom of expression, and public education. Contribution to media programs that amplify student voices and promote social accountability.



  1. National Best Student Blogger

This award acknowledges a student who has leveraged blogging platforms (personal blogs or social media) to inform, inspire, and impact peers and the public. The nominee must show: Originality and creativity in content creation. Consistent production of high-quality, ethical, and informative content.Influence and engagement on topics related to youth development, education, entrepreneurship, or national discourse. Use of blogging for advocacy, awareness creation, or promoting positive societal change. Digital literacy and responsible online communication.

 

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS AWARD (GHANAIAN STUDENTS STUDYING ABROAD)


  • NASAAG Best International Student in Leadership 

This award recognizes a Ghanaian student studying abroad who has exhibited outstanding leadership qualities and responsibility in student or community initiatives. The nominee must show: Proven leadership in student associations, clubs, or youth-led projects. Voluntary service or representation in diaspora engagement or community development. Promotion of Ghanaian identity and values through leadership. A track record of advocacy or mentoring fellow students. Tangible achievements that reflect responsible and transformative leadership.

  • NASAAG Best International Student Mentor 

This award honors a Ghanaian international student who has significantly supported, guided, and inspired fellow students through mentorship. The nominee must show: A consistent record of mentoring or coaching peers academically, socially, or professionally. Voluntary commitment to empowering fellow Ghanaians or other international students. Proven impact through mentees’ success stories or growth. Engagement in mentorship platforms, events, or virtual spaces. Upholding values of empathy, patience, and youth empowerment.


  • NASAAG Best International Student Ambassador (Promoting Ghanaian Culture/Heritage and Diplomacy) 

This award celebrates a Ghanaian international student who has actively promoted Ghanaian culture, values, and diplomatic engagement abroad. The nominee must show: Active participation in cultural diplomacy or exchange programs. Initiatives that promote Ghanaian traditions, language, history, music, fashion, or cuisine. Representation in student ambassadorial roles, conferences, or intercultural activities. Positive branding of Ghana through educational or media platforms. Advocacy for international collaboration, peace, and cultural appreciation.
